Personalized Learning
The only environment acceptable for education is a learning environment rather than a teaching environment. Students are individuals possessing the right to learn according to their individual style, pace, and ability. ResponsiveEd is infused with personalization in all areas in order to strengthen the student’s weakness and enhance the student’s strength.
Aggressive Commitment and Single-Minded Focus
Success is based on individual achievement for each student. This achievement can only be realized by initiating a high level of commitment from parents, educators, and students. This commitment is characterized by a passion to not allow any student to fall behind. This commitment requires effective additional time, attention, and advocacy for each student. Campus, district, and state testing is a reality in today’s educational world. Every member of the school staff must possess an unwavering focus on testing results. Every member of the team must be involved in the assessment of data and the systemic methods to address testing issues for each student and the campus as a whole.
High Expectations
Students will rarely achieve more than the standard of expectation set for them. It is a disservice to set a low expectation and deceive students into a pseudo-success that can’t equip them with the skills necessary to fully reach their potential as members of society. School personnel will communicate high expectations and consistently maintain those high expectations throughout each student’s academic career.
Consistent Respect
Successful students become successful adults. Students must be trained in elements of respect. This respect is founded on a sense of personal confidence rather than a system of punishment. Students will be trained in developing skills in interacting with peers and those in authority. This respect will serve each student as they move beyond graduation.
Personal Choice
Education has progressed into a market of choice and competition. Each student represents a parent who has made a choice to be involved in the life of the school. This behooves the educator to honor this choice and offer the best the school has to offer. The school must respect the market mentality of the education environment and always seek to provide services that can meet individual needs.
Adaptive Strategies
Students have unique learning styles and needs. Communities will also require different school structures in order to effectively provide the most successful environment. The campus must be open to multi-dimensional strategies that can be designed to be responsive and flexible. The educator must be pragmatic in practice, implementing the most successful strategy for each student.
